What is a seal?

Seals are materials or components that prevent fluid or solid particles from leaking from adjacent binding surfaces and from intrusion into components of machine equipment, such as dust and moisture, from outside impurities.

Prerequisites for qualified seals:

1. Material compact, not easy to leak the working media or materials. Because the seal itself is to prevent leakage.

2. Good adaptability and stability to the working medium.

3. Have proper mechanical strength and hardness, almost unaffected by the working medium. For example, commonly used seals are made of butyl, silicone, triamcinolone, fluoroglue and so on. Different materials on different conditions of the reaction is not very different, such as butyl material is more oil-resistant wear, silicone resistance to high temperature, ozone resistance and so on.

4. Good compression, small permanent deformation.

5. Good temperature adaptability, high temperature does not soften, does not decompose, low temperature does not harden.

6. The coefficient of friction is small and the wear resistance is good.

7. Anti-corrosion good, high temperature does not soften, does not decompose, low temperature does not harden, does not crack.

8. The softness and elasticity of the sealing surface are good.

9. Good ozone and aging resistance, long service life.

10.The processing performance is good and the price is low.
